Registered Valuers represent the largest body of valuers in the UK. 

AJA A member of the Association of Jewellery Appraisers.

An Association dedicated to maintaining the highest possible standards of experience, procedures, qualifications, knowledge and integrity set by Professional Jewellery Valuers. A Certified Appraiser of the AJA has to meet the strictest requirements in the UK.

FGA Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain

The most highly respected professional Gemmological qualification in the world.

DGA Diamond Diploma of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain

An extension to the FGA that purely covers diamonds

SJH Member of the Society of Jewellery Historians

A Society that seeks to educate and inform members of the jewellery profession on period jewellery and jewellery from antiquity

PJDip Professional Jewellers Diploma of the National Association of Goldsmiths

A qualification that covers most areas of the jewellery trade, including history, manufacture, gemmology and customer service

SoEW Society of Expert Witnesses

The Society offers support and information for those Valuers involved in court work

AoE Academy of Experts

The Academy of Experts is the Professional Body for Expert Witnesses both in the United Kingdom and around the world

PJV Professional Jewellery Valuer (National Association of Goldsmiths)

A relatively new qualification so not all Valuers will be holders of a PJV. Those Valuers that do, have been tested to the highest standard and probably have the most enthusiastic attitude towards professional education.
