The Gemstone Separator provides a lightning quick method of identifying gems. Enter the details that you know and Gemology Tools Professional returns all the possible stones. In this instance, if you were to check the pleochroism and find that your stone is dichroic, the program would reduce your choices to Two (one if you uncheck the "show near hits"). Checking the stones optical character would reduce the possibilities to one, Red Beryl.

 

The Database can be sorted by any of the characteristics or constants by simply clicking on the heading. For instance if you wished the database to show gemstones in order of their SG simply click on the SG heading.
